Launched at New Scotland Yard on the 20th February 2009 PROFiT is a coalition of travel industry partners working together to eliminate fraud in the travel industry. Working closely with the Metropolitan Police through its initiative Operation Sterling the aim of the group is to cut fraud out of the industry by offering advice and setting minimum standards.

What is the purpose of PROFiT?

    PROFiT sees major stakeholders in the travel industry coming together to educate the industry about the pitfalls of fraud and to strengthen its anti-fraud measures. By improving industry standards and increasing co-operation PROFiT seeks to raise consumer confidence by allowing informed choices to be made about providers of travel and holiday plans.

    PROFiT exists to make sure that what fraud there is, is minimised so that consumers can make travel and holiday arrangements with confidence.

    In an industry where margins are low PROFiT seeks to minimise fraud against travel companies.
