Conman who fleeced travel customers jailed
A conman who used his “easy charm” and “kind smile” to fleece customers out of £26,000 for non-existent airline tickets has been jailed for three years.
Scheming Dean Oliver promised cheap flights from his Smethwick based travel firm but left 19 holidaymakers in the lurch.
During his trial Birmingham Crown Court it was heard Jamaican Oliver, aged 46, set up a frequent flyers club which aimed to attract seven million members.
But jailing the conman, His Honour Judge Richard Bond said the scheme was: “at best comical, at worst bare faced lies you told people.”
