Fraudster jailed for multiple scams

A fraudster from Croydon has been jailed today, Monday 19 May, for two and a half years imprisonment for her part in a travel and smartphone scam.

Neelam Desai, (dob 01/05/1980) of Beulah Grove was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment at Croydon Crown Court.

She was sentenced in relation to five counts of fraud by false representation, three counts of handling stolen goods and one count of being an undischarged bankrupt engaging in a business. A suspended sentence, relating to a previous conviction of fraud in 2010, was also triggered, for which she will serve three months imprisonment and is to be served consecutively.
