Hacker admits Norwich airport cyber attack

The airport was forced to take its website down for three days in September 2015 and build a new one at a cost of £30,000 to £40,000, the BBC reports. The hacker, Daniel Devereux, 30, of no fixed address, will be sentenced by Norwich Magistrates’ Court on June 16.

Devereux, who used the pseudonym His Royal Gingerness, admitted two counts of unauthorised access under the Computer Misuse Act. The other charge was related to a hack of the website of Norwich and Norfolk hospital, which had to take its website offline for 24 hours.

Reports on Devereux’s mental health are being prepared prior to sentencing. He had earlier told the court the hacks each took only ‘two or three minutes’.
