Police charge woman in alleged ticket scam

A 38-year-old woman from the Philippines is facing 18 charges in relation to an alleged airline ticket scam targeting members of Toronto’s Filipino community that resulted in the loss of $150,000 from victims.

Police said the joint investigation with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario discovered that customers booked airline tickets through a woman whom they believed was authorized to sell them low-fare tickets to the Philippines.
