About Employee Fraud
In our further look at employee fraud we look at the types of fraud committed by employees, but first we need to establish why employees commit fraud in the first place?
Studies have shown that employee fraud is committed for the following reasons:
1. Opportunity – generally as a result of the lack of internal controls.
2. Internal/External pressures – the need to keep your job and the need to maintain
standards of living.
3. Rationalisation – that the fraud in victimless and that is not wrong to commit fraud.
