Gone phishing: why email is still the No 1 target for cyber-criminals

Email continues to be the leading route used by cyber-criminals to defraud victims, with RSA identifying a new phishing attack every minute and estimating that phishing attacks cost global organisations $4.5 billion in 2014.

Cyber-criminals are always coming up with new ways to exploit email to do harm. Email attacks are becoming extremely sophisticated, making it difficult for brands to fight back, and considering that 97 per cent of people around the globe cannot identify a phishing email the impact can be huge.
